Winter Is Here

Today I went to my local reservoir, it was covered in ice apart from a small patch so couldn’t see many birds on the water, there were lots of thrushes about though.

However I did see 33 species:

Great crested grebe, Grey heron, Mute swan, Canada goose, Greylag goose, Mallard, Gadwall, Shoveler, Wigeon, Teal, Tufted duck, Pochard, Coot, Moorhen, Dunlin, Black Headed Gull, Herring Gull, Lesser black-backed gull, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, Pied Wagtail, Wren, Robin, Song thrush, Redwing, Fieldfare,  Blackbird, Great tit, Blue tit, Magpie, House sparrow, Chaffinch, Snow Bunting
